Subject:URGENT HELP FOR NAVY VET JACK COOPER PROJECT – HOUSE BURNED DOWN!!
CHARITY PROJECTS
Hi everyone…
We know this is VERY SHORT NOTICE and maybe not the best time for everyone, but we have a real and urgent need that some of you can help with.

PLEASE HELP!  If you aren’t available one of these dates, please forward this onto others you know.

Jack Cooper and his son Daniel are retired Navy Vets (20 yrs and 11 yrs respectively) (project synopsis is attached) who’s house in New River, AZ burned 8 weeks ago and their well went dry the same week.  Our foundation has been helping him and his adult son to recover and it’s been very rough for them.  They are living in an old 15 ft motor home loaned to them on the severely damaged property that almost washed away with them in it during the two recent floods up here.  Their needs are serious and immediate!

We need people for basic physical labor help to move debris and belongings to prep for demolition and then rebuilding after that.

When?  (Please let us know what time slots you are available so we can coordinate that on the project)

Round #1 –  is this Saturday, September 27th from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon for anyone available (5-10 people)

Round #2  –  is this Sunday, September 28th from 6:00 am to 10:00 am (not a great time but it’s when we can do it with a small crew already committed from Behr Paint
and Home Depot and need a few more, 10-15 people)

Round #3  –  will be any time anyone has any time and can help next Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, September 29th, 20th, October 1st, (5-10 people)

Round #4  –  is next Thursday and Friday, October 1st & 2nd, early in the morning through early afternoon to assist with the excavator process (2-3 people shovel and rake kind of stuff)

The Address is:

918 East Circle Mountain Rd, New River, AZ 85087

What We Need Help With:

We have to remove by hand a lot of burned debris and household items out of the part of the house that is still standing, which a portion of that will be able to be recovered and used to start the rebuild with.
We have secured donated dumpsters and the trucks to haul them for free to the dump.
We have secured excavators to tear down most of the house except the portion that can be saved.
The excavators are coming in next Thursday and Friday and we have to have all this done by hand prior to them coming.
We have to get the inside materials OUTSIDE the saved part of the house for the excavators to pick up.
We have to tear off all Sheetrock on saved walls and pull nails out of those wood studs.
We have to literally cut the house in half with saws-all power tools
We have to rake and gather up all fire related debris from around the yard into a pile for disposal.
We have to cut down one full tree and parts of others that are fire damaged and in the way of the excavators and dumpsters.

What You NEED to Bring:

HEAVY DUTY GLOVES
HEAVY DUTY BOOTS OR SHOES (No thin soles!!!!!)
Breathing Masks
Crowbars
Flat Shovels
LOT’S OF WATER!!

What You Can Bring if You Have Them:

Hard Hats if You Own One
Rakes
Wheelbarrows
Flat Bars
Hammers
Demolition Tools
Sledge Hammers

What You Can Bring for Jack & Daniel:

Canned Food
Fresh Food
Package of Toilet Paper
Bottled Water

Of course, after this clean up is done there will be opportunities to help rebuild their house over the next few months.

This is a really valuable opportunity to make a real statement in the lives of these down and out veterans.  Please somehow find some time to join us!

Please reply back so we know what your availability is or isn’t.

Thanks MUCH!

Matt
